Ravi Bishnoi claims top spot, Deports Rashid Khan as World No. 1 T20I Bowler in ICC Rankings

India's Ravi Bishnoi has become World No. 1 T20I bowler in ICC rankings, dethroning Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan.

Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has clinched the coveted No. 1 position in the ICC T20 International (T20I) bowling rankings, dethroning Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan. The dynamic young bowler’s stellar performance in the recent 5-match series against Australia propelled him to the pinnacle, solidifying Team India’s dominance across ICC rankings.

Bishnoi’s exceptional display in the series, where he secured nine wickets from five games, contributed to his surge in the rankings. At 23 years old, Bishnoi has amassed 699 rating points, making him the new leader in T20I bowling. This achievement underscores India’s stronghold in the cricketing world, with the national team already holding the Number 1 position in all three formats. Additionally, key Indian players such as Shubman Gill, Ravichandra Ashwin, and Suryakumar Yadav command top spots in ODI batting, Test bowling, and T20I batting rankings, respectively.

Rashid Khan, the former No. 1 T20I bowler, now occupies the second position with 692 rating points, having been displaced by Bishnoi’s outstanding performance. Following closely are Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and England’s Adil Rashid, both sharing the third spot with 679 points. Completing the top five is Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana with 677 points.

Notably, Ravi Bishnoi stands as the sole Indian bowler within the top 10 in the T20I bowling rankings, while Axar Patel has also made gains, climbing nine spots to secure the 18th position. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav, who captained India in their triumphant 4-1 T20I series against Australia, retains his position as the top-ranked T20I batter. In the all-rounders’ category, Hardik Pandya holds the third spot, maintaining his standing despite missing the Australia series due to injury.
