Jasprit Bumrah’s comeback: We hope he returns before World Cup, says Rohit Sharma

New Delhi: Indian cricket fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Jasprit Bumrah, who is expected to make a comeback to international cricket after being sidelined for almost a year due to a back injury. The bowler is likely to make his presence felt during the upcoming T20I series against Ireland.

Bumrah’s return to the squad is seen as a major boost for the Indian cricket team, especially with the ODI World Cup just around the corner. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued a medical and fitness update on Bumrah’s rehabilitation process on July 21. The fast bowler is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and is reported to be in the final stages of his rehab. Bumrah has been bowling with full intensity in the nets.

To ensure Jasprit Bumrah’s readiness for international cricket, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) is planning to organize practice games. The BCCI Medical Team will assess his performance in these matches before making the final call on his return to the national squad.

The ICC World Cup 2023 will be starting on October 8 in India.
