Indian batter Ruturaj Gaikwad ruled out of tests against South Africa, Abhimanyu Easwaran named as replacement

Ruturaj Gaikwad has reportedly been ruled out of the remaining games of India’s South Africa tour due to an injury.

In recent news, Indian batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad has reportedly been ruled out of the remaining games of India’s South Africa tour. The news was confirmed via an official press release by the BCCI (Board of Control Cricket for India).

This comes after Gaikwad suffered an injury in his finger during the second ODI match against South Africa. Meanwhile, Abhimanyu Easwaran has been named as the replacement by the BCCI.

The press release by BCCI read, “He (Ruturaj Gaikwad) underwent scans, and following an expert consultation, the BCCI Medical Team has ruled him out of the remainder of the tour. He will be reporting to the NCA for further management of his injury. The Men’s Selection Committee has named Abhimanyu Easwaran as his replacement.”

Further, fast bowler Harshit Rana has also been ruled out of India’s four-day match against South Africa due to an injury. Notably, this four day series match is scheduled to start from December 26. The matches will be taking place at Willowmoore Park in Benoni.

Moreover, the selection committee has included Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Avesh Khan, and Rinku Singh to India’s A squad. It is noteworthy mentioning that Kuldeep Yadav has been released from the squad.
