India Vs South Africa, 2nd T20I: Virat Kohli shines at Mohali

Mohali : Skipper Virat Kohli’s unbeaten knock of 72 runs helped India to defeat South Africa by seven wickets in the second T-20 international at IS Bindra Stadium here last night.

Chasing the victory target of 150, openers -Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan gave a solid start for the home team.

Later, Kohli and Shreyas Iyer steered their team to victory. Virat slammed unbeaten 72 runs off 52 balls, while Dhawan made 40 runs off 31 balls.

Earlier, put into bat first, South Africa scored 149 runs for five wickets with the help of Skipper Quinton de Kock’s 52 and Temba Bavuma’s 49 runs.

For India, Deepak Chahar took two wickets for 22 runs. Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja and Navdeep Saini shared one wicket each.

Kohli was adjudged as Player of the Match.

The first T-20 was abandoned due to rain and with this victory. The third T-20 will be played on Sunday at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
