What measures have been taken for agricultural workers’ livelihood, questions Achyuta Samanta in Lok Sabha

Kandhamal MP Achyuta Samanta today in Lok Sabha raised question regarding the measures taken by the Union Ministry of Labour & Employment for the agricultural workers’ livelihood and various welfare schemes being implemented for them.

New Delhi: Kandhamal MP Achyuta Samanta today in Lok Sabha raised question regarding the measures taken by the Union Ministry of Labour & Employment for the agricultural workers’ livelihood and various welfare schemes being implemented for them.

Samanta also asked how many agricultural workers in Kandhamal Parliamentarian constituency are getting benefit out of those welfare schemes.

Answering to the Kandhamal MP, Union Labour Minister Bhupender Yadav said that Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (Mahatma Gandhi NREGS), National Food Security Act, Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, PM Vishwakarma and other schemes are being implemented for the wellbeing of the agricultural workers.

Till now, 1, 37,450 agricultural workers including other labourers of Kandhamal district have been registered in the e-Labour portal launched by the central government since 2021, the Minister said.

On the other hand, 1, 13, 187 workers of Kandhamal district and 71,722 workers of Boudh district have been registered under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), he added.

Yadav further informed that under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) a total of 2,95,295 workers of Kandhamal district and 1,86,667 workers of Boudh district have been registered. Likewise, 2606 workers of Kandhamal district and 2366 workers of Boudh district have been registered under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PM-SYM) scheme, he said.
