#WATCH: Leopard found in residential area in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Fear gripped the locals in Palaspalli area of the state capital city as a leopard was found in the residential area last night.

According to the CCTV camera footage, the leopard reportedly spotted in the compound of a commercial establishment in Palaspalli area in Bhubaneswar at around 10.30 pm yesterday. It was seen entering the compound.

It is said that the commercial establishment where the animal was seen is situated adjacent to the Biju Patnaik International Airport and around 1 km away from the residence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Though the current whereabouts of the leopard are unknown, forest officials have started a search operation to trace the wild animal.

Speaking to Kalinga TV about the incident one Bankanidhi Senapati, who is an employee of the business establishment, “I was talking over the phone when the leopard entered our campus after scaling the boundary wall of the airport at around 11 pm yesterday.”

“I was scared as the wild animal passed close to me and looked at me just a few meters away from where I was standing before it went to the roadside. Then I called my other staff to find the leopard, however, we could not,” added Senapati.

He further said, “Later, we studied the CCTV footage and became sure that it was a leopard.”
