Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath To Visit Odisha On Feb 20

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the 2019 General Elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be visiting Odisha on February 20 to address a convention of party workers at Kalahandi and Khordha.

Through his presence, the UP CM will try to boost electoral prospects of the saffron party, which is trying to grab power by dethroning the ruling BJD in the upcoming elections. Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to address party workers at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district and at Nachuni in Khorda district.

Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah made back-to-back visits to Odisha in recent times. To seize power in 2019, Shah has set a target of winning at least 120 of the 147 Assembly seats in the state.

In 2014, the BJP could win only one of the 21 Lok Sabha seats in the state. The remaining 20 Lok Sabha seats were captured by BJD. Furthermore, the saffron party managed to win only 10 seats of the 147 seats that it had contested in the assembly polls.
