Tourist rescued while drowning in Puri sea

As per sources, Yadav visited the temple city and offered prayers at the 12th Century Shrine seeking the blessings of Lord Jagannath and his siblings.

Puri: A tourist was reportedly rescued by the lifeguards while drowning in sea in Odisha’s Puri City on Sunday. The tourist has been identified as Ashish Yadav of Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh.

As per sources, Yadav visited the temple city and offered prayers at the 12th Century Shrine seeking the blessings of Lord Jagannath and his siblings.

Later in the afternoon, the 22-year-old tourist went to the sea beach at Sector 7 near Chaitanya square to have a bath. However, he was swept away by the strong waves of the sea water.

However, the alert lifeguards, who were on the beach, noticed Yadav being drowned and soon swung into action. As many as five of them entered into the sea and rescued him.

Meanwhile, the tourists present at the spot heaped praises on the lifeguards for their timely action that saved Yadav’s life.
