Tapaswini-Sumit marital discord: Husband pays Rs 17,000 to wife as per Court’s direction

Bhubaneswar: In today’s development in the ongoing Berhampur marital discord case, Sumit Sahu has paid Rs 17,000 to Tapaswini Dash as per the Court’s direction towards her maintenance.

Reportedly, Sumit deposited the money in form of a bank draft in the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) through his lawyer on Thursday evening.

Although he had said that he will not be able to deposit this amount of money for Tapaswini’s maintenance. However, he paid the money respecting Court’s order.

It is to be noted that Sumit will pay Rs 17,000 towards Tapaswini’s maintenance on the 10th of every month, added reports.

Besides, Sumit appeared in family court for counseling but it could not be held due to Tapawini’s absence.

Earlier, on January 4, District and Sessions court of Ganjam ordered that Tapaswini Dash will stay with her husband, Dr Sumit Sahu, in her in-laws’ place in Bramhanagar.

Tapaswini was protesting in front of her in-laws’ house for the last 44 days. After protesting in front of the house for some days, with the help of some local women she got entry to the Veranda of the house. Since then she was protesting in the veranda along with social activists.
