Keonjhar: The Community Health Centre (CHC) at Dhenkikot village in Ghatagaon block of Keonjhar district is reeling under staff crunch and lack of basic amenities.
According to reports, one pharmacist has been running things single-handedly after the lone doctor posted at the CHC had left his job to pursue higher studies. More shockingly, no effort was made to find a suitable replacement for the doctor who left. Due to this discrepancy, patients from as many as 12 villages who depend on the Dhenkikot CHC are now facing numerous hardships in getting proper medical care.
The locals have alleged that similar state of affairs also exist at Pandapada and Jharabeda health care units too.
They have threatened to hit the streets if the state administration does not appoint doctors at the CHC as soon as possible.
