Srimandir Heritage Corridor: Rice and betel nut to be collected from today in Odisha

The temple administration will collect betel nut and rice from today ahead of Srimandir Heritage Corridor inauguration, and take it to Puri.

Puri: Rice and betel nut to be collected from today in Odisha ahead of the Srimandir Heritage Corridor inauguration by the ‘Jagannath Rath’. The auspicious inauguration of the much-awaited Srimandir Parikrama project on the 17th of January 2024. The people of the state will given the golden opportunity to participate in this historic event.

On the request of the temple attendants, the temple administration will collect betel nut and rice from every house and bring it to Puri. This campaign will run from January 6 to January 15 of this month. In a temple in the village, the collected betel nut and rice will be kept and there will be arrangements for eating prasad and then send it to Puri.   

On January 17, live broadcasting Srimandir Heritage Corridor inauguration will be arranged through big LED screens in every panchayat so that everyone can watch the inauguration festival. People will be brought from the blocks to Puri in phases. Two lakh rupees will be given to each panchayat for organizing these programs. Similarly, 20 crore rupees have been given to 30 districts to bring people from the block to Puri.

Extensive programs will be organized in Panchayats and urban areas as well. For this, 1 lakh per ward of NAC, two lakh per ward in municipality and five lakh per ward in metropolitan area will be given.
