OAS Probationers Visit Smart City Office

Bhubaneswar: Thirty-six Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) probationers, recruited by the way of promotion and currently undergoing institutional training at Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, here, visited the office of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) and Bhubaneswar Operations Centre (BOC) today, as part of their exposure visit.

The exposure visit was part of their curriculum and to have an overall understanding on the functioning of the Smart City and the command and control centre at BOC. Both the facilities are currently on the fifth floor of BMC-Bhawani Mall, Saheed Nagar.

The visiting officers were given a brief presentation on the Infrastructure Projects, Smart Solutions and Socially Smart Bhubaneswar Projects of BSCL and how the common public are getting benefited by the Smart City project in the State Capital.

General Manager Administration Diptirani Sahoo, Chief Financial Officer Manoranjan Samantray, GM Engineering Ashwini Kumar Biswal, GM Technology Seshadev Panda and Company Secretary Ajaya Kumar Majhi explained the projects to the visiting probationers. 

Later the probationers went to the Bhubaneswar Operations Centre to have a practical knowledge on the functioning of the command and control system of the city. BSCL Technology Officer Ashit Rajhans explained the functioning of BOC to the visiting OAS probationers.

Kishore Kumar Behera, a probationer said “the exposure visit was really fruitful as we go to see and know the functioning of the command and control centre of the Smart City and how the technologies will help citizens and the administration to manage and control situations in future days. Already many applications, currently in operation was also shown live to us.’’
