NDA Presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu to file her nomination papers today

New Delhi: The presidential candidate of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Draupadi Murmu will file her nomination today for the upcoming elections.

Reportedly, there will be two Odisha Cabinet ministers as the proposers during Murmu’s nomination feeling.

The presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu will her nomination at 12.30 pm in the Parliament House of the Secretary General, Rajya Sabha.

The nomination papers had been prepared at the residence of Minister of Parliamentary Affairs of India Pralhad Joshi.

Earlier on Thursday, she met Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP national president JP Nadda.

Notably, Draupadi Murmu left for New Delhi on Thursday.

The Centre has accorded a Z+ security cover of CRPF commandos to the Presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. The Union home ministry directed the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to deploy its VIP protection team to take charge of Murmu’s security.

A detachment of about 14-16 personnel of the paramilitary force based in Odisha has taken over the task of providing the security cover to Ms Murmu. They will be escorting her wherever she travels across the state and the country.

It is pertinent to mention that the presidential poll will be held on July 18, 2022 and counting will take place on July 21. The nomination filing began on June 15 and the last date for filing of nominations is on June 29.
