Mystery shrouds fisherman’s drowning near Dhamara port

Bhadrak: In a sea mishap off the coast near Dhamara port here on Saturday, a fisherman met watery grave after felling from a fishing boat in mysterious conditions.

The deceased has been identified as Sarat Mahalik, Jamajhadi village near Naranpur of the same district.

As per the fellow fishermen, Sarat had boarded a boat namely ‘Pancharatna’ of a Kashaphala based company for fishing in the morning. However, during fishing he slipped off the boat and fell into the water to drown.

The body of the victim was fished out of the water by fellow fishermen immediately and was brought to the coast.

Dhamara Marine Police reached the spot and seized the body for autopsy.

While mystery still shrouds the death of the victim, police have started investigation into the case.
