Kandhamal MP Achyuta Samanta inaugurates 70th Senior State Volleyball Championship
Kandhamal MP, President of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) and Odisha Volleyball Association (OVA) Achyuta Samanta today inaugurated the 70th Senior State Volleyball (Men & Women) Championship & 2nd Traditional Shooting Volleyball (Men) Championship at Coronation Ground in Phulbani.
Phulbani: Kandhamal MP, President of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) and Odisha Volleyball Association (OVA) Achyuta Samanta today inaugurated the 70th Senior State Volleyball (Men & Women) Championship & 2nd Traditional Shooting Volleyball (Men) Championship at Coronation Ground in Phulbani.
Samanta inaugurated the volleyball tournament in the presence of Kandhamal District Collector Ashish Ishwar Patil, Phulbani MLA Angad Kanhar and General Secretary of Odisha Volleyball Association (OVA) and other dignitaries.
The Championship is being jointly organized by OVA and Boudh-Kandhamal District Athletic Associations from December 7 to December 10.
The Men Championship is being organized at Phulbani, Baliguda and Raika while the Women Championship is being held at Boudh and Traditional Shooting Volleyball (Men) Championship at Daringbadi.
Sources said that as many as 68 teams (32 Men & 20 Women in Senior State and 16 Men in Traditional Shooting) are taking part in these championships. Over 1000 Men & Women players and 100 officials from across 30 districts and 6 units of Odisha are participating in the sporting event.
