Cyclonic circulation over BoB, rain in Odisha to continue till August 23

Yet another cyclonic circulation is predicted to be formed in the Bay of Bengal on August 25. Rain will continue in the state of Odisha till August 23.

Bhubaneswar: Yet another cyclonic circulation is predicted to be formed in the Bay of Bengal on August 25. Rain will continue in the state of Odisha till August 23, said reports on Friday.

Jatni in Khurda district of Odisha has recorded the highest rainfall at 88mm  said the regional MeT office situated here in Bhubaneswar.

Record of rainfall today: 
Jatni (Khurda) – 88 mm in Khurda Jatni
Nabarangpur – 81 mm
Daringbadi – 60 mm
Titlagarh – 60.8 mm
Bhubaneswar – 63.8 mm
Puri – 69.6 mm
Hirakud – 87.8 mm

The MeT Department further informed that, there is no risk of floods till now. But the Meteorological Department has warned about the possible collapse of mud houses, dirt roads and mud walls.

Monsoon has been weak in the state for the last 10 to 12 days. 10% less rainfall was recorded during the month.

The Meteorological Department has further said that the current rains will replenish the rainfall to some extent and the farming work will go ahead. It will continue to rain till tomorrow, then the rain will decrease.
