Covid cases in Odisha declines with 219 positives, 2 fatalities

Bhubaneswar: A total of 219 Covid-19 positive cases including 32 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours.

With 219 positives, the tally rose to 10,48,228 informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Friday.

Among the 219 positives, 131 are quarantine cases and 88 are local contacts. However, 235 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of 10,37,387. Currently, the active cases stands at 2385.

On the other hand, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of two COVID infected patients including one from Bhubaneswar, taking the death toll to 8,403 after due completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1.A 95 years old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Hypertension.

2.A 50 years old Female of Jharsuguda District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

Meanwhile, India reported 10,549 new cases, 9,868 recoveries and 488 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Health Ministry. Currently, the active cases stand at 1,10,133.
