Boats in Bhubaneswar used to rescue people from various low-lying areas across the city. People face various issues due to extreme rainfall.

Bhubaneswar: The extremely heavy rainfall in the capital city of Odisha has left people in a complete state of shock and confusion.

The BMC has been forced to use boats in Bhubaneswar to rescue people from various low-lying parts of the city said reliable reports on Tuesday.

In various areas of Bhubaneswar, motors are being used to remove water. Dewatering process is underway at 17 locations of Bhubaneswar city, said the BMC.

The locations are as follows: 1.Cosmopoli area, 2. Subhas Nagar basti, 3. Paiknagar Delta chawk 4.Rabindra Garden 5.Damayanti Appartment 6. Satya vihar, 7. SDM court, 8.Laxmisagar, 9. Bhimatangi 10.Jagmohan Nagar, 11. Madhusudan Nagar, 12.Banphul basti, 13. Kapileswar, 14. Prachi vihar pahal, 15. Pokhariput, 16.Patrapada, 17.Gandamunda near shiv mandir

According to reports, a huge tree had got uprooted in Bhubaneswar. The ODRAF personnel cut down the tree at the earliest and cleared the road at Tapoban high school road in Ghatikia area of Pokhariput in Bhubaneswar.

The BMC has handled water logging grievance through an independent cell and has received as many as 79 calls via 1929 helpline number. The calls have been diligently transferred to the dedicated SI/WO/field Engineers for prompt resolution.

The BMC has prioritized effective communication and efficient action to address all concerns, said reports. Team BMC is trying its best to provide all assistance to the affected families. ODRAF personnel have been engaged to help the affected families.
