Barabati Stadium to get more matches on rotation basis: BCCI President Saurav Ganguly

Cuttack: The Barabati Stadium in Odisha’s Cuttack would get more matches on a rotation basis, informed Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Saurav Ganguly.

While speaking to the reporters after witnessing the second T20 match between India and South Africa yesterday at the iconic Stadium, Saurav said, “I have been associated with the Barabati Stadium since the 1980s. I have several memories here. I have made centuries here and even played as the capital of the Indian team.”

“Every time, matches are conducted here very successfully with a fully packed audience. The modernization and development works of the Stadium are a process and it will continue in the future. Barabati Stadium will get more matches on a rotation basis,” he added.

Saurav Ganguly was in Odisha to watch the India-South Africa T20 match at Barabati Stadium yesterday. He also paid a courtesy call to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik before witnessing the match. The visitors beat India by four wickets and took a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20I series.
