2-ft flood water flowing over Huluhula bridge in Banki, road communication paralysed

With two feet high floodwater of Mahanadi river flowing on HuluHula bridge in Banki of Cuttack, the road communication has been paralysed

Banki: With two feet high floodwater of Mahanadi river flowing on HuluHula bridge in Banki of Cuttack, the road communication has been paralysed.

The people are facing difficulties and are unable to cross the bridge due to the flood water flowing. They are not able to come to the Panchayat office at the northern part of Banki.

Seven lakh cusec of flood water is flowing in Banki area due to flood in Mahanadi river.

On the other hand, hundreds of acres of farmland have been flooded. Crops have been destroyed by flood water.

Yesterday,  the goddess Maa Bhattarika in Odisha’s Cuttack district was shifted to the cyclone shelter after flood water entered the sanctum sanctorum (Garba Gruha) of the temple.

Meanwhile, the local administration is on high alert to tackle the flood like situation which has been caused due to continuous rain in the upper catchment of the Mahanadi River.
