PM Modi likely to inaugurate Ayodhya Ram Mandir in January 2024

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya between the 21st and 24th of January 2024.

Ayodhya: The much-anticipated inauguration of the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya is set to take place in late January 2024, according to senior seers of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. While an official date has not been confirmed, preparations for the ceremony are underway.

Reports suggest that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the temple between the 21st and 24th of January 2024. Swami Govind Giri mentioned an auspicious ‘muhurat’ (timing) between the 21st and 23rd of January, which will be conveyed to PM Modi for consideration.

The formal rituals (Pooja) for the inauguration are scheduled to commence on January 14th, with the final date to be determined after confirmation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Amidst these speculations, the exact date remains uncertain. While India.com has stated that the inauguration will occur on January 24th, Zee News has reported the date as January 22nd. An official announcement from the temple authorities is awaited.

The construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya has been progressing steadily since August 5, 2020, when PM Modi performed the Bhoomi puja to mark the beginning of the project.

In February 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi established the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra to oversee the temple’s construction.

The legal path for the temple’s construction was cleared on November 9, 2019, when a five-judge Supreme Court bench, led by then Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, ruled in favor of Ram Lalla. The decision allocated the entire disputed land, spanning 2.7 acres, to a government-formed trust tasked with supervising the temple’s construction.
