Pakistan resorts to heavy shelling in ceasefire violation across LOC

Srinagar: Pakistan yet again violated the ceasefire on Tuesday by resorting to heavy shelling across the Line of control (LOC). The shelling began on Monday night and continued till Tuesday morning. Indian armed forces gave requisite reciprocatory firing.

“The Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation in Rajouri’s Sunderbani sector and Jammu’s Akhnoor sector on Monday night,” Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand told the media.

The firing exchange began on at 10.45 on Monday.

No casualties were reported.
