New Delhi: Close to one lakh farmers have come together in the national capital New Delhi for a rally with their previous demands. The march is aptly titled Kisan Mukti. The rally is being organised by All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC). AIKSCC has also sought President  Ram Nath Kovind’s intervention on holding the special parliamentary session. Farmers from Tamil Nadu have now joined the rally carrying skulls of two farmers who have allegedly committed suicide. They have threatened to continue the march tomorrow nude, if center doesn’t promise a positive action.

The farmers have begun their protest near Parliament, demanding passing of bills higher minimum support price (MSP) of grains. Farmers also want complete relief from farm loan debt.

Atul Anjaan, national secretary of All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) said all top leaders of opposition parties including Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal have been invited for a two-day meet. Anjaan claims the center has failed to meet the farmers’ demand in the past two occasions and will not back down till all their requirements are fulfilled.

Swaraj Abhiyan leader, Yogendra Yadav, will be leading the march in Delhi. He has asked all citizens of India in joining their protest. He says “Join us even if you are not a farmer. Join the hands that toil for you”.
