Omicron wave of Covid-19 likely to decline by March, Says health experts

New Delhi: Since the past few days there has been a sharp increase in Covid cases including the Omicron variant that has been explosively spreading across country.

Reportedly, health experts have also said that the threat level of the Omicron variant is currently high especially in areas with people having low immunity levels.

Recently some public health experts have stated that the Omicron driven wave of Covid-19 will likely ease off by the month of March. The Chairman of World Health Organization’s technical advisory group on SARS-CoV-2 virus evolution Anurag Agrawal has said that the spread of Omicron variant should be much faster than Delta.

On Friday, India reported 2,64,202 new cases of Covid-19, the highest single-day rise during the ongoing third wave. Active cases presently stand at 1,534,668. According to the data shared by the health ministry, the daily positivity rate in the country stands at 13.11%.

India has so far reported 5,753 Omicron cases.
