India registers 2.85 lakh new Covid-19 cases; daily positivity rate 16.16%

New-Delhi: India on Wednesday reported 2,85,914 fresh Covid infections in a span of 24 hours and the daily positivity rate came down to 16.16 per cent, said the Union health ministry.

A total of 665 new deaths were also recorded in the span of 24 hours taking the toll to 4,91,127.

The active caseload has jumped to 22,23,018, which constitute 5.62 per cent of the country’s total positive cases.

The recovery of 2,99,073 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally to 3,73,70,971 Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 93.23 per cent.

And, India has administered 163.58 crore vaccine doses so far.
