Hyderabad: Angry youth stabs girlfriend 18 times for refusing to marry him, arrested

Hyderabad: A youth has been arrested by the Hyderabad Police for stabbing his girlfriend 18 times at Hastinapuram of Telangana on Wednesday.

According to a report published in NDTV, the accused, who has been identified as Basavaraj, was in a relationship with the girl for some years now.

However, the girl reportedly got engaged to another man, Shridhar, two months ago. Despite this, Basavaraj met the girl near her room and tried to convince her to marry him recently. But, he stabbed her 18 times after she refused to marry him.

While the victim was soon admitted to a hospital in a critical condition, Basavaraj was arrested by the Hyderabad police.

While investigating the incident, cops came to know that both the accused and victim are the residents of Daulatabad in Vikarabad district and were in a relationship.
