Husband slits own throat out of jealousy after wife asks gutkha from other man in Madhya Pradesh

A man allegedly slit his own throat and cut his wrist out of jealousy after his wife borrowed tobacco from another man in Madhya Pradesh.

Betul: A man allegedly slit his own throat and cut his wrist out of jealousy after his wife borrowed tobacco from another man in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul district. The incident has come to the fore from Gau police station area of the district.

The man, identified as Shivram Rathore, a labourer from Jhallar but has been working at Betul. According to reports, Shivram’s wife Pooja borrowed ‘Gutkha (tobacco) from her neighbour and consumed it. He got jealous and started shouting at his wife.

The argument turned ugly and in the fit of rage, he slit his throat and cut his wrist using a blade.

After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot, rescued him and rushed him to the nearby hospital. The condition of the youth is said to be critical.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
