Horse forced to smoke weed at Kedarnath Trek: Watch

The act of animal cruelty was caught on camera on the route to the Kedarnath temple, where two horse riders forced a horse to smoke weed

Uttarakhand: In a heartbreaking incident, two horse riders reportedly forced a horse to smoke weed at Kedarnath Trek. The unacceptable act of animal cruelty was caught on camera on the route to the temple.

In the video, two males were seen forcing a horse to inhale a puff of cannabis. They were seen locking the animal’s mouth and nose with their hands. They place the roll into the animal’s nostrils at the same time. The horse can be seen trying to breathe, inhales the medication and exhales the smoke unwillingly.

After Twitter users tagged the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India, the animal rights organisation also stepped in and said the guardian of the horse, seen in the video, has been identified.

“People For Animals Uttarakhand is working on it. The guardian of the equine seen in the video has been identified, and attempts are being made to trace the animal. The Sub Divisional Magistrate of Kedarnath has directed the necessary action in this regard. No formal complaint has yet been registered by the police in this regard. We have offered any support that may be required in the matter,” PETA said.

In a reply to the viral video, the Uttarakhand Police also tweeted and said that they were looking into the matter. “We have taken cognizance of the viral video wherein a horse is forcefully given smoke. We are trying to identify the men in the video,” they said.
