G20 Summit: Northern Railways temporarily cancels, diverts over 200 trains
Northern Railways has announced temporary disruptions to over 200 passenger train services from September 8 to 11, ahead of G20 Summit.
New Delhi: As the national capital gets ready to host the G20 Summit, Northern Railways has announced temporary disruptions to over 200 passenger train services from September 8 to 11. The decision was made to ensure smooth operations during the important international event.
According to schedule, on September 9, more than 90 train services will be cancelled. On September 10, over 100 passenger train services will also be affected. Most of these trains usually run from Delhi to various destinations in South Haryana, including Sonipat, Panipat, Rohtak, Rewari, and Palwal.
In addition to these cancellations, the Delhi-Rewari Express Special and Rewari-Delhi Express Special trains will not operate on September 11.
To accommodate the G20 Summit preparations, several trains that were originally scheduled to begin or end at the New Delhi railway station during this period will now either begin or conclude their journeys at Ghaziabad or Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations.

The G20 Summit, scheduled for September 9 and 10, is set to be a historic event with the largest participation ever seen in the grouping’s history. The summit will host leaders from 19 G20 member countries, including Argentina. Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union
India has also extended invitations to several guest countries for this mega event, including Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates.
