New Delhi: An earthquake of 6.2 magnitude on the Richter scale jolted the Southwest Indian Ridge (SWIR) during the early hours of Sunday. The quake occurred at 03:39:31 IST, confirmed the NCS.
The National Centre of Seismology took to their official handle on X (formerly Twitter) to inform about the earthquake in the Southwest Indian ridge. Reportedly, the tremors originated at -39.64 latitude and 46.16 longitude. The quake originated 10 kilometers beneath the earth surface.
