Guwahati: An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Ritcher scale jolted Asaam’s Guwahati during the early morning hours of Thursday, reported the National Centre for Seismology (NCS). As per reports, the quake precisely took place at 05:42:58 IST.
The earthquake in Assam originated at a latitude of 36.63 and a longitude of 93.08. The epicenter is located approximately 73 kilometers beneath the Earth’s surface.
No casualties have been reported yet. Further details are awaited.
The National Centre for Seismology took to their official handle on X (formerly Twitter) to inform about the earthquake in Assam. They wrote, “Earthquake of Magnitude:3.5, Occurred on 07-12-2023, 05:42:58 IST, Lat: 26.63 & Long: 92.08, Depth: 5 Km, Location: 63km NNE of Guwahati, Assam, India”
