Chittor: At least 7 people were killed and 45 injured in a bus accident last night in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
The accident took place in Bakrapeta, 25 kms away from Tirupati. The bus driver and cleaner died on the spot.
According to police, the bus was carrying bride’s family from Rajendra Nagar of Dharmavaram to attend the engagement. The bus was carrying 45 passengers along with bride.
The bus hit the sidewall and slipped into the valley near Bakarapatet ghat road bus was rolled down into the valley. On being informed, the police rushed to the spot and immediately swung into rescue operations.
The injured were immediately rushed to RUIA Hospital in Tirupati. Of which the condition of four of them is critical.
Police registered a case and an investigation is underway.
