21 injured after bus taking cops after elections duty overturns in Madhya Pradesh

Betul: At least 21 police and Home Guard personnel were injured after the bus carrying them overturned in Betul district of Madhya Pradesh.

According to reports, the personnel were returning to their Rajgarh district  after completing their election duty when the accident occurred near Baretha Ghat on the Bhopal-Betul highway.

As per reports given by the Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Shalini Paraste, the incident occurred at around 4 am. The incident took place when the bus carrying 40 personnel swerved to avoid a truck that crossed its path.

Reportedly, eight of the personnel who received serious injuries are being treated in the district hospital at Betul. Those with  minor injuries are being treated in Shahpur hospital.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.

In a similar instance,  two passengers were reportedly killed while as many as more than 40 passengers sustained injury as a bus skidded off the bridge and fell into 30 feet below.

The bus overturned in Jajpur district of Odisha on Monday (April 15th). The accident took place at the Barabati Chhaka on the National Highway No. 16. It was on its way to Digha from Puri.

As per reports, a few minutes back only the passenger bus met with an accident. When the bus was crossing the Barabati Chhaka the driver somehow lost control over the steering and the bus overturned. The bus is reportedly skidded off the bridge. All the passengers have sustained injury, said reports.
