Facing financial crisis due to Omicron? You can withdraw Rs 1 lakh from PF Account; Know how

The COVID-19 case in the country is at its peak as the Omicron Variant cases also are increasing every single day. People also are getting facing financial crises due to the pandemic. During this difficult time, the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced a new facility with an aim to ease the burden on the general public, especially the PF account holders.

According to a statement issued by the EPFO, now the EPFO members can withdraw up to Rs 1 lakh from their PF accounts without submitting any documents.

EPFO is providing this facility to the salaried people under Medical Advance Claim. The EPFO ​​said that if the members need money urgently for medical purposes can withdraw Rs 1 lakh from their account.

Conditions to withdraw Rs 1 lakh from EPFO

  • The patient of the employee claiming medical advance should be admitted to the Government / Public Sector Unit / CGHS Panel Hospital.
  • If you have been admitted to a private hospital in an emergency, then an investigation will be done in this regard. Only after that, you can fill the application for a medical claim.
  • Under the facility, you can withdraw advance only up to Rs 1 lakh. If you are applying on a working day then your money will be transferred to the account the very next day.
  • This money can be transferred either to the employee’s account or directly to the hospital.

How to withdraw Rs 1 lakh from EPFO

  • First of all visit the official website EPFO (www.epfindia.gov.in)
  • Now click on ‘Online Services’ option
  • Then you have to fill the forms 31, 19, 10C and 10D
  • Enter the last four digits of your bank account to verify
  • Click on ‘Proceed For Online Claim’
  • Select Form 31 from the drop-down menu
  • Now enter the reason and amount to withdraw money
  • Upload a copy of the hospital bill
  • Enter your address and click on ‘Submit’
