7th Pay Commission: Good news! Pensioners likely to get 11364 rupees more with DR hike and arrears

There is great news for the retired central government employees. The benefit of increased Dearness Relief will be available in the November pension. Along with this, arrears of four months will also be available. This will increase the pension of pensioners.

Actually, in October 2021, the Modi Government gave the gift of Diwali to the Central Government Employees by 3 percent in Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief (DR). It was implemented from 1 July 2021. Now the arrears of July, August, September and October will also be included in the pension of the retired employees in November.

Let us tell you that dearness relief is calculated on the basic salary. In such a situation, if the pension of a retired employee is 20 thousand rupees, then his salary will increase by 600 rupees. This increase will be according to the increased DR of 3 percent.

There will be a big increase in the salary of the officer grade, according to the 7th Pay Matrix, then there will be a significant increase in the salary of the officer grade. If someone’s basic salary is currently Rs 31,550, then till now he was getting Rs 8,834 according to 28% DR. But, now the DR has increased by 3% to 31%. Therefore, now you will get Rs 9,781 as DR per month. That is, there will be an increase of Rs 947 in the salary per month. At the same time, there will be an increase of Rs 11,364 annually.

Four months’ arrears will also come in the salary of November. If we look at the calculation of officer grade salary, then there will be an increase of Rs 947 in DR per month. That is, the arrears for four months will be Rs 3,788. At the same time, including the increased DR of November, Rs 4.375 will be more in the pension. At the same time, a meeting will be held by the concerned Ministry in December on the payment of arrears for the last 18 months.

The Dearness Relief is given to pensioners as per the recommendations of Central Pay Commission as accepted by GOI. This makes Government duty bound to provide relief, there nothing which can be termed as “GIFT” or “Bonanza” in this payment.
