Lord Jagannath to wear Bali Bamana Besha in Puri Srimandira today

Puri: Lord Jagannath to wear Bali Bamana Besha in the Srimandira of Puri in Odisha today. Yesterday the Bamana Janma Niti (ritual of the birth of Bamana) held in Srimandira today the Bali Bamana Besha will be held.

Similarly, Bada Thakura Lord Balabhadra will wear the Raja Besha (Royal attire) while Maa Subhadra will be in general attire.

After the Dwipahara dhupa ritual today Lord Jagannath was adorned with the Bamana Besha. The Lord will wear this attire till the Badasinghara puja.

On this occasion Lord Jagannath will wear golden ornaments.

During the fifth incarnation, Lord Vishnu had pressed King Bali into the patala. To commemorate that episode Lord Jagannath is adorned with the Bali Bamana Besha in the famous Lord Jagannath temple in Puri of Odisha for the last hundreds of years.
