Vivek Oberoi duped of Rs 1.55 crore by business partners

Actor Vivek Oberoi was reportedly duped of Rs 1.55 crore by three peoples who asked him to invest in a couple of projects with good returns.

Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi fell victim to a cunning scam, losing a hefty sum of Rs 1.55 crore to three cunning individuals promising lucrative returns on investment.

The incident came to light when the actor’s Chartered Accountant, Deven Bafna, stepped in and filed a complaint against the trio at the MIDC police station in Andheri East.

According to the complaint, the three accused, including a film producer, were apparently business partners of the actor. They lured Vivek with promises of incredible profits on a couple of projects involving an event and film production firm. The actor invested a substantial amount in the venture, not suspecting any foul play.

Unfortunately, the investments turned out to be a sham, as the conniving trio decided to use the money for their own gains.

In response to the serious breach, an FIR has been registered against the three accused individuals under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including charges of criminal breach of trust, cheating, and common intention.
