‘Pushpa’ actor Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari arrested in Hyderabad for abetting girlfriend’s suicide

Actor Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, known for his role in Pushpa, has been arrested over allegedly abetting his girlfriend’s suicide.

Actor Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, known for his role in Allu Arjun’s blockbuster movie Pushpa, has been arrested in Hyderabad. This comes after he faces charges of abetting his girlfriend’s suicide. The actor and the deceased were reportedly in a live-in relationship. 

The girlfriend’s family has accused Jagadeesh of blackmailing and harassment, claiming that the constant mental torture led her to take her own life on November 29. 

The deceased’s father approached the police, alleging that Jagadessh Prathap had harassed and blackmailed his daughter. An investigation was launched, revealing evidence against the actor in the deceased’s phone. The police stated that Jagadessh had taken photos and videos of his girlfriend with another man on November 27. 

He allegedly blackmailed and threatened to share her private photos online. Following a confrontation, the deceased hung herself on November 29. She reportedly worked as a junior artist in the Southern film industry. 

The Panjagutta Police in Hyderabad booked Jagadeesh under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code for abetment to suicide. He was arrested on Wednesday. Jagadeesh and his family have yet to issue official statements regarding the accusations. 

In the Allu Arjun starrer blockbuster film Pushpa, Jagadeesh Prathap played the character of Keshava. He was the right-hand man of Allu Arjun’s character in the film, sharing the screen with the superstar multiple times. His recent films include ‘Satthi Gaani Rendu Yekaralu,’ produced by Mythri Movie Makers. His upcoming films in the near future include ‘The Extra Ordinary Man’ and ‘Ambajipeta Marriage Band.’
