‘PM Narendra Modi’ confirmed to release on 1st day of polling-April 11

New Delhi: After being rescheduled twice, it is now confirmed that Vivek Oberoi starrer ‘PM Narendra Modi’ will hit the theatres on the first day of polling, i.e. on April 11. Previously, the film was scheduled to release on March 5.

The director of the film, Omung Kumar took to his Twitter handle to announce the new release date of the upcoming film. “Thank you everyone for your support. Here’s the date when our film #PMNarendraModi will be releasing. 11th April. Jai Hind,” he wrote along with a new poster of the film.

Vivek Oberoi had told ANI, “Even though our date has been delayed, but we are undeterred. There are powerful people who are standing against us including many renowned lawyers of the Supreme Court. But we are certain that they can delay us, but cannot deter us.”

The opposition had raked a controversy regarding the release of the film ‘PM Narendra Modi’ in the current election atmosphere. They had alleged the makers of trying to influence voters in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. Various political parties also stated that releasing the film in less than a week before the General elections is a violation of the Model Code of Conduct. Several political leaders had requested to delay the release of the biopic.

But the Supreme Court had refused to intervene in this matter and rather asked Election Commission and Central Board of Film Certification Board to take a decision.

With the movie ‘PM Narendra Modi’ getting a release date, the makers of the movie can afford a sigh of relief.

Thanking the fans for their support, Vivek said, “We would like to thank you (people) for your blessings and support as that it is our strength at this time. With a lot of efforts, we made a film on Narendra Modi which we wanted to release and share with you all on April 5. But some people surrounded us with so many problems that we could not come on April 5, but now with your blessings and efforts, we are trying to come on April 11.”
