“Lost weight, Burnt my skin”: Vikrant Massey on prepping for 12th Fail

Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey recently during an interview with GQ India revealed about the things he did while preparing for his role as Manoj Kumar Sharma in Filmfare winning film 12th Fail.

“I spent almost a year and a half preparing for the film, and the three months prior to the shooting were filled with extensive workshops and reading sessions. I had to lose weight and tan my skin. While tanning, my skin actually got burnt, and I freaked out, thinking we’d have to push our shoot by a couple of weeks,” he said.

Vikrant Massey further revealed, “The film’s director Vidhu Vinod Chopra said that this was a boon and now we wouldn’t need any makeup. We’d be going in raw. The toughest part of this journey for me, however, was the emotional weight that came with playing this character. Someone who represents the dreams of millions of Indians. To tell a real India story that would resonate with the masses.”

Earlier in February, Vikrant Massey and his wife Sheetal Thakur are celebrating a new chapter in their lives as they joyfully announced the arrival of their first child.

Taking to Instagram, the couple shared a note: “07.02.2024 for we have become one… we are bursting with joy & love to announce the arrival of our son… love, Sheetal & Vikrant.”

The note has images of baby things like a hoodie, soft toys, booties, feeding bottle, stroller and a rainbow.

Vikrant captioned the post with a joining hand emoji, and a white heart.

In the work front, the 36-year-old actor was last seen in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s ‘12th Fail’, based on the real-life story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi. He next has ‘Yaar Jigri’, ‘Sector 36’, and ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’ in the pipeline.
