Google celebrates Sridevi’s 60th birth anniversary with a doodle

To honor Sridevi's legacy, Google paid a heartfelt tribute to the late actor by creating a creative doodle of her.

On the occasion of Sridevi’s 60th birth anniversary, Google paid a heartfelt tribute to the late actor. Google honored the actress via a creative doodle. The doodle showed a creative illustration of the late actress. The doodle has been created by Mumbai-based guest artist Bhumika Mukherjee.

To honor her legacy, Google provided some of the key details of her remarkable journey. Born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan in 1963, Sridevi started her remarkable acting career at the mere age of four. She debuted with the Tamil movie, Kandhan Karunai.

She had learnt multiple South Indian languages, which helped her to break into other film industries of India. Sridevi established herself as a national icon at the box office after playing the lead in action-comedy, ‘Himmatwala.’

Sridevi is well known for her iconic roles in Bollywood films like ‘Chandni’, ‘Lamhe’, ‘Mr India’, ‘Chalbaaz’, ‘Nagina’, ‘Sadma’, ‘English Vinglish’, and many more. The Padma Shri awardee also made her mark with several hit films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films.

Sridevi was last seen in ‘Mom’ in 2017 before her sudden demise in 2018. The film fetched her the National Film Award for Best Actress. Sridevi breathed her last on February 24, 2018. She was married to producer Boney Kapoor and has two daughters, Khushi Kapoor and Jhanvi Kapoor.

Google India’s official account on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) shared a post on Sridevi’s birth anniversary. In the post, they wrote, “…Sridevi forever made her mark on the film industry by charting new avenues for women to take on leading roles in Indian cinema. She will be remembered as one of the greatest Indian actors of her time. Happy birthday, Sridevi!”
