Actor and director Farhan Akhtar turned 50 today. Friends and family of the Don Director kick started the day’s celebration with a midnight party. Actor Shabana Azmi took to her Instagram handle to post a birthday wish for step son Farhan Akhtar.
In a rather sweet post, Shabana Azmi shared a picture from the midnight birthday celebration of Farhan Akhtar. Addressing him as “betu,” she captioned the post, “Salgirah mubarak betu FarhanAkhtar. Jeete raho khush raho bahut saara pyar.”

On Tuesday midnight, sister Zoya Akhtar, father Javed Akhtar, mother Honey Irani, and wife Shibani Dandekar kick started Farhan’s birthday celebration by cutting a cake at midnight.
Others who joined in the celebration were Shibani’s sisters Anusha, Apeksha, her parents Sulabha and Shashidhar. Dandekar’s brother-in-law Abhishek Sharma was also present. Others in the celebration were Shabana Azmi’s family members Baba Azmi and Tanvi Azmi.
Farhan Akhtar is well known for his roles in various films. Apart from which, he is also known for his roles as a director, singer, and screenwriter as well. He made is directorial debut with the 2001 film “Dil Chahta Hai.”
Further, his debut in acting was with the 2008 film “Rock On.” One interesting fact is that Farhan was also the producer and script writer for this film. He garnered worldwide appreciation with the Milkha Singh biopic “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.” Notably, he won a total of eight awards for the film.
Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming directorial in Bollywood is “Don 3.”
