Akshay Kumar’s mother passes away after illness: He says ‘I feel an unbearable pain’

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar’s mother Aruna Bhatia, whose health condition was deteriorating for the past few days,  passed away on Wednesday morning. The actor took to Twitter to express his grief.

She was admitted to the ICU of Mumbai’s Hiranandani Hospital after her health deteriorated.
Expressing his grief, the actor twitted, “She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence,” he wrote.

The 53-year-old star also added that his mother passed away peacefully and wrote, “My maa… Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti.”

Earlier this week, Akshay Kumar returned to Mumbai from UK after he got to know about his mom’s failing health. He was pictured at the Mumbai airport on Monday.

On Tuesday, Akshay had shared a health update about his mother in an Instagram post and said it is a tough hour for his family.

“Touched beyond words at your concern for my mom’s health. This is a very tough hour for me and my family. Every single prayer of yours would greatly help,” read his post.
