Sensex up 600 pts today, Nifty above 21,700; Adani Ports top gainer
The benchmark equity indices BSE Sensex and Nifty has recovered from yesterday's slump with a marginal gain on Tuesday.
New Delhi: The benchmark equity indices has recovered from yesterday’s slump with a marginal gain on Tuesday. In the early trade, the Sensex was up 365.30 points or 0.51 percent at 71,720.52, while the Nifty was trading at 21,628.60 with a gain of 115.60 points or 0.54 percent.
By 10.16, the Sensex was up 471.37 points or 0.66 percent at 71,826.59, and the Nifty climbed 148.55 points or 0.69 percent at 21,661.55.
Sensex and Nifty peaked at 10.46am with gains of over 629.94 points and 195.90 points respectively. The Sensex reached 71,985 with 0.88 percent gain while the Nifty was up 0.91 percent to trade at 21,708.
BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices are trading in green. All the sectoral indices are trading in the positive territory with power, realty, metal and Information Technology index up 1 percent each.
Bajaj Auto , Wipro, Infosys, Tata Motors and LTIMindtree were among major gainers on the Nifty.
