Sensex extends positive rally with gain of over 500 pts, Nifty at 22K
The Sensex opened at 72,998.16 with 429.71 points or 0.59 per cent gain, while Nifty climbed 158.60 points or 072 per cent open at 22,053.15.
New Delhi: The equity benchmark indices opened higher on Monday. The Sensex opened at 72,998.16 with 429.71 points or 0.59 per cent gain, while Nifty climbed 158.60 points or 072 per cent open at 22,053.15 in the opening session.
The BSE Sensex jumped 550 points to 73,127 and the NSE Nifty50 soared 133 points to top 22,000.
Meanwhile, the broader markets BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices were in green with a gain of up to 0.6 per cent.
The leading stocks on the Sensex were Wipro, HCLTech, Tech M, Infosys, TCS and SBI. Meanwhile, the Asian Paints, Nestle, HUL, ICICI Bank and Bajaj Finance were among the major drags.
