Sensex and Nifty open in green; Axis Bank gains
In the early trade, BSE Sensex opened at 71,942.43, up by 282.72 points, while Nifty registered at 21,710.40 with a gain of 84.65 points.
New Delhi: With a positive start in the early trade, the Benchmark Stock indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 rose on Thursday. In the early trade, BSE Sensex opened at 71,942.43, up by 282.72 points, while Nifty registered at 21,710.40 with a gain of 84.65 points.
Sensex rose 199.96 points or 0.28 percent to 71,857.67, while, the Nifty 50 climbed 63.15 points or 0.29 per cent to trade at 21,681.85 by 10.16 am.
Hero Motocorp, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Life, and Reliance emerged as the top gainers, contributing to the positive sentiment. Conversely, Dr Reddy, Infosys, HCL Technologies, Sun Pharma, and Wipro found themselves among the early top losers.
