Indices recover as Sensex gains 350 points and Nifty climbs over 21,600

The BSE Sensex opens higher by 322.33 points or 0.45% to 71,678.93, while the NSE Nifty 50 gained 88.45 points or 0.41% to settle at 21,605.80. 

New Delhi: The benchmark equity indices have recovered from the three-day losses as Sensex and Nifty opened higher on Thursday. The BSE Sensex opened in green with 333.60 points or 0.45% to 71,678.93, while the NSE Nifty 50 gained 88.45 points or 0.41% to trade at 21,605.80.

Nifty index gains over 100 points or 0.21% in opening trade to settle at 47,805.40. The BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices gained up to 0.77 per cent.

The Sensex advanced to 71,835.12 with a gain 478.52 points while the Nifty 50 was trading over 21,650 with 132.75 points by 11.00 am.

Bajaj twins, Infosys, Tata Motors, NTPC and Wipro were the leading gainers on the Sensex. Adani Ports was the additional winner on Nifty. The major laggards were Tata Steel, Maruti, BPCL and Bajaj Auto.
