Toyota Hyryder leaked image shows us that it can be a perfect rival for Hyundai Creta

The Toyota Hyryder is the upcoming SUV by the company (Toyota) in India and is expected to be the perfect rival of the Hyundai Creta. The Hyundai Creta currently dominates the under 4.5m length SUV segment in India. Toyota Hyryder which is expected to launch on July 1 is codenamed D22 and seems to be an aggressive version of the Urban Cruiser.

Toyota Hyryder will be similar to that of RAV4 and the Corolla Cross which are already available in the global markets. The leaked image shows that the upcoming SUV will have lots of chrome on it. The Toyota logo is placed on the middle of the chrome strip that runs from one side to another. As compared to the current generation urban cruiser, the Hyryder has sleeker headlamps at the front. The roof gets contrasting colours along with roof rails. The design of the grille is divided into two parts, while the bumper is grey in colour.

When it comes to engines, the Toyota Hyryder is expected to offer a hybrid powertrain that is already present in the Suzuki Vitara European variant. The Vitara Euro variant gets a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine along with a 140V lithium-ion battery pack and electric motor. The 1.5-litre petrol engine offers 115 PS maximum power while the peak torque of the SUV is 138 Nm. The electric motor will offer additional 33 PS power and 60 Nm torque. The engine will be offered with either a manual or an automatic transmission option.

When it comes to the price of the Toyota Hyryder, the SUV is expected to be priced at more than Rs 10 lakh and goes up to Rs 17 lakh.

In India, Toyota is quite famous among car lovers for its 6/7 seater cars. The Toyota Innova Crysta and the Toyota Fortuner are the best-selling cars in the country. The company launched the Toyota Hilux pickup truck in India in 2022.
