Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo launched in India, Price starts at Rs 15.99 lakh

Skoda has launched the new Kushaq Monte Carlo in India on Monday with price starting from Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It is the new top-spec model in the Kushaq line-up and over Rs 70,000 costlier than an equivalent Style variant. Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo has received cosmetic updates in the interior and exterior.

Whats New 

The Kushaq Monte Carlo gets an all-black exterior treatment, replacing all the chrome and silver elements from the standard car. The grille, wing mirrors, roof rails, door handles and bumper inserts are finished in black, and so are the front and rear skid plates. It also gets a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels that incidentally look similar to that of the previous-gen Octavia RS 245. You also get red brake callipers with the 1.5 TSI variants.

In term of cosmetic treatment, the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo edition gets a black treatment on the exterior which includes-grille, roof and rear-view mirrors. The chrome treatment on the SUV is replaced by black colour and the badging of the SUV is also black. In terms of wheels, the SUV have 17-inch alloy wheels which is similar to that of older generation of Octavia (RS245). The SUV has Monte Carlo badging on the front fenders, while the ‘Skoda’ and ‘Kushaq’ lettering on the tailgate are also in black.

The interior of the Kushaq Monte Carlo edition is equipped with an 8-inch fully digital instrument cluster with red graphics to go with the Monte Carlo theme. Currently, the SUV gets an analog unit. The Monte Carlo edition have dual-tone red-black upholstery while the dashboard, centre console, and all-four doors get a red accent as well. The Monte Carlo edition is based on the top trim of the Skoda Kushaq Style variant. The Kushaq Monte Carlo is only available in two exterior paint shades – Red and White.

The important features that will be available on the SUV are full LED headlamps, ventilated front seats, automatic headlamps and wipers, IRVM with the auto-dimming feature, audio system with 6 speakers, tyre pressure monitoring system, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker sound system with subwoofer, six airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system, among others. It does not have the panoramic sunroof.

Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo: engine options

The Kushaq Monte Carlo edition is offered with two engine variants- 1.0litre, three-cylinder TSI engine and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI engine. The 1.0L variant offers 115 hp of peak power and 175Nm of maximum torque. On the other hand, the 1.5L variant produces 150 hp of power and 250Nm of torque. The Monte Carlo Edition is expected in automatic as well as manual transmission variants.

The new Kushaq Monte Carlo edition will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta Knight Edition and Kia Seltos X-Line, which feature similar cosmetic updates as the Kushaq Monte Carlo.
