The security forces are on alert after sources informed that a Pakistan-based terrorists are planning a terror attack on the Amarnath yatra in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to reports, terrorists might target security forces and the Amarnath Yatra convoy to disrupt the yatra. Rafiq Nai and Mohammad Amin Butt alias Abu Khubaib have been assigned the task of carrying out terror activities in the Amarnath Yatra, as per sources.
They were reportedly given the responsibility to carry out the attack in the Rajouri-Poonch, Pir Panjal and Chenab Valley areas.
Both Rafiq Nai, who is a resident of Mendhar in Poonch district, and Khubaib, who is a resident of Doda district are operating from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The two terrorists have been tasked with carrying out terror activities in the Jammu region by Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI.
Security agencies are constantly keeping an eye on his family and their house to see whether his family members are in constant contact with him.
Being locals, both the terrorists know all the routes of infiltration and are influencing youths into wrong routes. The security agencies are on alert around border areas and are trying to capture them.
Ahead of the Amarnath Yatra, every part of the city and village is under the supervision of the security forces including squad teams, QRT, CRPF, Jammu Kashmir Police, SSB, as well as many others to ensure the safety of the yatris.
The registration process for a visit to the holy shrine of Amarnath temple has commenced from July 1, 2023. The temple is situated in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The duration of the Amaranth Yatra lasts for 62 days. The yatra will culminate on August 31, 2023.
